The Hybrid Interactive Knowledge Assimilation Initiative (HIKAI) being launched by Ramakrishna Mission to provide structured curriculum as per the Board syllabus to all school-going students in Meghalaya. You are aware that the schools are not allowed to function in normal mode by the Government fearing community spread of COVID19.
So, the two centres of the Ramakrishna Mission in Meghalaya viz, the Sohra (Cherrapunjee) centre and the Shillong centre are combining their expertise to provide education through an innovative the Hybrid Interactive Knowledge Assimilation Initiative (HIKAI) from 17 August 2020 for any student in Meghalaya, who wants to use this facility. To begin with we are launching the program for classes IX to XII.
The Ramakrishna Mission decided to launch this free online service to classes IX to XII from August 17 2020. We intend to motivate the students to take up this mode of education.
- Totally free service to enrol and access the online teaching
- Free preloaded tablets for all students of science stream in classes XI and XII. There were 3706 students who opted for science in class XII in 2019-20 Board Examinations. So for classes XI and XII we expect around 7500 students.
- Free preloaded tablets for students of Arts stream if they have secured above 80% marks in the SSLC examinations. This will be around 6000 students under this category in classes X and XII.
- Mission to sponsor 50% of the tablets' cost if the student is from the very poor section of Society. We expect 20,000 students under this category from classes IX to XII.
